Consumer fraud
In June of 2002, I hired a contractor to remodel my kitchen. I gave
him a check for $4,000 to buy supplies, cabinets, etc., and he never
returned to do the work. I contacted the appropriate agencies ––
Better Business Bureau, the State's Attorney's Office, the City
of Chicago Department of Consumer Services –– attended
two hearings, and was represented in one by a neighborhood attorney,
but to no avail.
Then, Edwin McCullough took over the matter, and within four weeks,
I had my cashier's check for $4,000. Before he stepped in, I had
waited about one-and one-half years. Mr. McCullough's prompt action,
thoroughness and dedicated approach to my problem got the results.
For that I am very grateful.

In October of 2002, I attempted to re-finance my home through a
finance agency. Unfortunately, the agent representing the company
embezzled money from me and the company he represented. I called
attorney Ed McCullough to seek legal advice. By May of 2003 a lawsuit
was filed, and by August of 2003 the case was settled. I truly appreciate
Mr. McCullough’s persistence and dedication in handling my
case. His research and attention to details was very impressive.
I highly recommend his expertise!

I would highly recommend Ed McCullough as an attorney. He is thorough
in his research of the case law, knowledgeable and professional.
He handles issues with great consideration in terms of how to gain
the best outcome for his client. My case came to a positive conclusion
because of his efforts.

Appeals
I’m writing to commend you on the excellent job you did on
my appeal. I really appreciate your services. Your work ethics are
unmatched by any attorney I’ve dealt with in the past. You
responded to my requests promptly and more importantly honestly.
You kept me informed at all times and supplied me with a copy of
all of the briefs filed.
In the beginning I had my doubts, but the outcome proved me wrong.
What really stands out is the fact that you took my case pro bono.
That kind of kindness was to me unheard of.
I was looking at an outdate of 2012 until you stepped to the plate
as a pinch hitter and hit the game ending home run with me on first
base sending both of us home. I am innocent of the crime for which
I was convicted.
Thank you very much and keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
Deon O. McLaughlin

Pro bono work for the Illinois Audubon Society
Dear Ed,
Your involvement and contribution to the Plum Island campaign was
an inspiration to me. Your commitment to making this planet a better
place to live amazes me. I often wonder what a wonderful place this
world would be if there were more people like you and the rest of
our committee. Your phone calls, e-mails, correspondence and friendship
have very heartwarming and appreciated.
Don Goerne, Chair of Friends of Plum Island and President of Starved
Rock Audubon Society.
